Weekend Hashtag Project: #WHPLayers
This weekend the challenge is to make images and videos that play with layers and depth, as in this featured photo from @mao_kokubu. Here are some tips:
Build depth in your image. Accentuate the background or foreground elements in your image or video. Whether it’s a closeup detail of a giant leaf, an out of focus building on the horizon or a car passing through the foreground of your frame, objects can come together to create a layered composition.
Look for pre-existing layers. Think about documenting your subject behind interesting layers, like a wire fence, or through a window with interesting reflections.
Get detailed. You can embody a sense of depth and layers in the details of an intricate hairstyle, the colorful layers of a tall cake or even what lies beneath a corner of peeling paint.
PROJECT RULES: Please add the #WHPLayers hashtag only to photos and videos shared over this weekend and only submit your own visuals to the project. By adding the #WHPLayers hashtag, you consent to and grant Instagram all rights to repost your photo or video. If you include music in your video submissions, please only use music to which you own the rights. Any tagged photo or video shared over the weekend with the #WHPLayers hashtag is eligible for the project and, if selected, to be featured next week.
